Architectural Changes

• Fences
  • No taller than 6 feet
  • No fence, wall or hedge shall be constructed or maintained closer to the front property line of the Lot than the Residence. All fences along all property lines must be wood, or other materials as approved by the Architectural Control Committee
• Landscaping
  • All land must be landscaped with trees, bushes, rock gardens, grass, or other natural ground cover and properly maintained through trimming, weeding, and appropriate maintenance. 
  • Xeriscaping shall be allowed and is encouraged. 
  • AGHA may regulate but not prohibit artificial turf in the backyard area among the types of drought-tolerant landscaping materials.
• Structures
  • No temporary house, trailer, tent, garage or other outbuildings are allowed
• Screening
  • All clotheslines, equipment, trash or garbage cans, service yards, wood piles or storage piles shall be kept screened to conceal them from view, except for trash pick-up day and during renovation or construction.
• Solar
  • AGHA shall allow the installation of renewable energy generation devices (e.g., solar panels) subject to reasonable aesthetic guidelines by requiring approval or denial of a completed application within 60 days and requiring approval if imposition of the aesthetic guidelines would result in more than a 10% reduction in efficiency or a 10% increase in price.

• Requests must be submitted according to the following timetable: 
  • Minor landscaping changes: Fifteen days prior to start date for minor changes such as painting, roofing, minor landscaping, siding, windows, rear decks and patios, and concrete edging. 
  • Major landscaping changes: Forty-five days prior to start date for major changes in landscaping, exterior additions, and large concrete projects such as sidewalks, driveways and front patios.
