To AGHA Board - annual reminder, just in case. Our irrigation system
has been turned on for the season. We are allowed to water on three days
per week, which will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our system
will be maxed out when the weather gets hot and dry, so it will be
difficult to keep the grass green, but we should be able to keep it
alive. I will probably start running the system next week.
Our system is undersized for our irrigation area, so watering times must
be carefully arranged. I maintain a spreadsheet to calculate watering
times.
AGHA EMERGENCY WATER SHUTOFF PROCEDURES
Our backflow preventers give us a relatively easy way to shut off our
irrigation water in case of emergency, such as a stuck valve or pipe
rupture. In case I'm not around or available by phone when you notice
something like this, all you have to do is lift off the picket fence
enclosures and plastic covers, and turn the levers on the top of BOTH
backflow preventers 1/4 turn. This should completely shut off the water
until repairs can be made. I have attached a photo of one of our
preventers. They are located inside the small picket enclosures next to
the sidewalk on the south edge of the front yard of 14163 E Layton
Drive, home of Frank and Ann Marie Heslop.
Let me know if you would like any hands-on training, or have any questions.
Thanks, Norm 303-437-3968
